Situated in the heart of the Old City, you’ll find a menu packed with the choicest cuts of prime steak and tasty, meaty morsels. As a cousin of Bristol’s best cocktail bars, Hyde & Co and The Milk Thistle, you’d expect to find a fancy concoction or two, and our expert bartenders will ensure you won’t be disappointed!

Here at The Ox we believe in creating exceptional food using local, seasonal produce which has been cooked to perfection by our expert chefs. And whilst steak is at the heart of everything we do, there’s a vast range of stunning small plates, classic charcuterie, superb sides and of course, delectable desserts on offer. And whilst we’re not ones to brag, word on the street is our Sunday Roast is one of the best in Bristol!
In keeping with our ethos of using local, seasonal produce nearly all of our meat is produced and supplied by our local butcher, Nigel Buxton. That said we’ve tasted a lot of steak in our time and we’ve found that some of the tenderest, tastiest beef comes from the other side of the Atlantic. We want you to have the best steak we can provide at the best price so you will find the odd cut from the US or South America.

We have created a festive party menu that will be sure to tantalise all your senses. Our Green room is perfect for dinner parties up to 30 guests and the restaurant can sit up to 80 guests.
